Christmas Crack

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1C        butter

1C        brown sugar

1tsp      vanilla

2C        chocolate chips

1 ream salted saltines (35) or matzo squares

Line a baking sheet with foil.  Cover with saltines or matzo.  Cut to fit the pan.

Melt butter and sugar in a small saucepan.  Add vanilla and simmer for 3-5 minutes.  DO NOT BOIL.

Pour over saltines or matzo and spread as evening as possible.

Bake for 5 minutes at 350 degrees.

Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips.  Spread when melted.

Place in fridge to set.  Either cut or break into small pieces.

Store in a covered container in the fridge.

When the chocolate is melted sprinkles, slivered almonds, mini M&Ms, etc can be added to the chocolate layer.
